BTS's Jimin Releases Solo Single "Promise" - TeenVogue.com

For the BTS Army, 2018 has just come to a perfect close. Jimin surprised fans on Sunday, December 30, with the release of his solo song, “Promise,” and from the reactions on social media, it’s clear that it's an official hit.

The BTS twitter account shared the new single via their blog, and also penned a thank-you note to fans who have waited patiently for a moment like this. The song itself, which is sung in a mix of Korean and English, features a tender guitar backdrop, soft vocals, and a sweet hook about “being the light.” In addition to the group’s website, “Promise” is also available to listen to on Soundcloud.

As noted by Billboard, “Promise” — which was produced by Slow Rabbit — is Jimin’s first “non-album solo single,” although diehard BTS fans will of course remember hearing his solo vocals on a couple of the group’s previous albums.

On social media, fans were quick to react with excitement to the singer’s solo single. One Twitter user pledged to “listen to this song every day,” while another called the single “beautiful” and described Jimin’s singing voice as “angelic.” Jimmy Fallon also praised “Promise” on social media, tweeting: “Oooohhhhhhhh my man #JIMIN (@BTS_twt) with a solo jam!! I love it. Congrats!!”

You can listen to “Promise” for yourself below…once, or many additional times throughout 2019.
