There is a significant gender disparity on India’s online dating platforms that put the men at a massive disadvantage. A recent study conducted by local dating app Woo has revealed that there are about three men for every woman on dating apps in India. [embedded content]   Based on Woo’s survey of 20,000 urban Indians, only 26% of their users are female, reports Quartz . The figure is significantly smaller than in the United States, where over 40% of the user base of major dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble are women. The wide discrepancy has become the main complaint of men who are annoyed with not having enough profiles to “match” or “like.” As for the few female users, their main gripe is “being bombarded with attention” from too many guys. Out of fear of being harassed, 70% of female users revealed that they are apprehensive about sharing their personal information on the dating platforms, the report revealed.
