Katie Holmes has been single for quite some time, and a tabloid claimed that she's ready to date again.

According to New Idea, Katie Holmes is secretly flirting with her former co-star, James Marsden. After starring in Disturbing Behavior in 1998, Holmes and Marsden never, allegedly, stopped contacting each other.

"There was a lot of chemistry between them in that movie. The set was so romantic, but Katie was about to go public with Joshua [Jackson], and James was getting serious with Lisa [Linde, who he wed two years later]," a source said.

But sparks flew between the former co-stars recently after Marsden liked one of Holmes' photos on social media.

A source told the tabloid that Holmes and Marsden have always been interested in each other. However, what they had was, allegedly, a case of bad timing. If one of them is single, the other one is in a relationship and vice versa.

Last year, Marsden dated British musician Emma Deignan. But their last photo together was on Valentine's Day. As such, the tabloid couldn't help but speculate on the possibility that the actor is single.

"James always held a torch for Katie. And if the rumors that things are cooling off between him and his girlfriend are true, he may have reconnected with Katie. As for Katie, she's ready to dip her toe in the dating waters again after Jamie broke her heart," the source said.

Rumors about Katie Holmes dating celebrities in Hollywood have been rife for years. Earlier this year, Now to Love linked the actress to Jennifer Aniston's ex-husband, Justin Theroux.

A source told the tabloid that Holmes' 14-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise has also become obsessed with Theroux.

"He's even helping to home school Suri and has bonded with her over their shared passion for creative writing," the source said.

OK! magazine claimed that Holmes was flirting with her Dawson's Creek co-star, Josh Lucas last year.

There were also claims that Holmes and Liam Hemsworth were getting to know each other in the hopes that they could date.

"Elsa thinks they'd hit it off and Liam is just Katie's type. Elsa knows she's had a hard time in her love life of late," a source said.

However, none of these claims made by the tabloids are correct. Katie Holmes has been single since her split from Foxx.

But Jamie Foxx headed for a late night dinner at Nobu in Malibu with a male pal on Saturday during which he was sporting an extremely bold look.

The actor, 52, looked stylish in a matching black tracksuit with a gold design as he headed into the restaurant with a Louis Vuitton face covering in place.

The Miami Vice star looked effortlessly cool as he accessorised with black and white trainers and a silver chain to perfectly round out the look.

Jamie made sure to put safety first as he donned the black Louis Vuitton face mask for the dinner in the swanky eatery.

After enjoying his meal, he hopped back into his white Bentley before driving home with his male friend in the passenger seat.

Jamie has kept fans guessing about his love life in recent months, since he split from Katie Holmes last year.

He was seen leaving the same Nobu restaurant with a mystery woman twice last month.

While it's not certain who Jamie's lady friend is, he has been spotted with various mystery women of late.
